The Finance Committee’s role is to oversee all material aspects of the Board’s (School Authority’s) financial planning, reporting, control and audit functions, as well as overseeing reserve investment funds. This includes focusing on the quantitative aspects of financial reporting and on the Board’s processes for the management of business/financial risk. As such, the Board must also be in compliance with significant applicable legal, ethical and regulatory requirements.
The Committee is responsible for overseeing the development of the Board’s budget, monitoring the budget during the year, recommending capital project financial options, and establishing prudent fiscal procedures that will allow the Board to make the most efficient use of its funds.
In addition, the Committee focuses on identifying financial trends/situations that could materially impact the long-term financial health of the Board.

Provincial employers in Ontario employing twenty (20) or more regularly employed workers must have a Joint Health and Safety Committee. This committee resides with the school.
The membership shall be as stated in Section s.9 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The purpose of the Board’s (School Authority’s) Health and Safety Committee is to improve workplace health and safety as per the recommendations presented by the Joint Health & Safety Committee of the school. The Board Committee ensures that workplace health and safety issues identified by the Joint Health & Safety Committee are considered and addressed. Any requirements outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations in the current Collective Agreements of worker groups will be considered in all recommendations and decisions.

The Policy Committee has the responsibility of reviewing current policy and recommending establishing new policy and creating procedures for carrying out certain policies. The Committee looks at policies in the areas of local board procedures, programs, pupils, employees, finances, property, operations and the community. The Committee recommends new/revised policy to the Board as a whole for approval.

The role of the Property Committee is to oversee the material aspects of the development and maintenance of the Board’s (School Authority’s) buildings and grounds.
The Committee oversees strategies for achieving the plant and facilities’ goals, which are to provide a physical environment that meets the needs of the school’s educational programs and takes into consideration the school community’s requirements in the areas of health, safety, aesthetics, accessibility and environment impact.
The Committee works closely with the Manager of Finance and Treasurer and the Health and Safety Committee.

The Board’s (School Authority’s) Transportation Committee is responsible for transportation planning on a continuous basis and dealing with any additional specific transportation planning or implementation issues as they arise or are assigned by the Board.
The Committee is responsible for reviewing the Board’s current Transportation Policy and making recommendations for revisions to the policy as needed.
The Committee endeavours to ensure safe practices in the design of bus routes for students and in the location of bus stops. The safety of each student transported shall be of prime importance in every aspect of transportation.

It is the responsibility of the Suspension and Expulsion Hearing and Determination Committee to conduct hearings and make determinations regarding suspensions and expulsions.
