Before and After School Program (B&A)

These programs are provided by Third Party Child Care Operators (YMCA) in school classrooms.

These high-quality programs provide care for children in Kindergarten to Grade 6 where there is an identified need for the service by families.

Programs are offered before and/or after regular school day hours.

Hours of operation vary based on the needs of families in each school; child care operators will confirm hours in June of the preceding year. Contact the operator directly to confirm B&A program hours at Burkevale Protestant Separate School.

All B&A programs are offered on a fee-for-service basis.

Registration

Completed registration packages will only be processed by the child care operator.

Your child’s space in the program for the following September will be considered a priority if completed registration forms have been submitted by June 30 of the preceding school year.

***NOTE: Demand and viability are two components that are considered when opening or expanding a Before and After School Program. The PSSBP works in collaboration with the County of Simcoe in their roles as Consolidated Municipal Service Managers (CMSM) and also consults with Child Care Operators to determine demand and viability of expanding existing programs and/or offering a new Before and After School Program. This means that the numbers are viable for a Third Party Child Care Operator to provide a program, and that there is a Third Party Child Care Operator able to provide a program.
