When a teacher reflects upon the year in its entirety, it is amazing to witness how every
students’ small steps show immense growth at the end of the year. This holds true with
so many things in life, whether it is a weight loss journey, fitness goal, or working toward a six year Masters degree.

Sports and extracurricular activities are continuing in the upcoming school year. Cross country running will be the first sporting event to begin. Information for interested students will come out by the end of week one.

June 2024 Newsletter

The 2023-2024 school year was certainly one for the history books. Finally, the School Board, Burkevale students, staff and the parent community received the long-awaited news of the approval of a new Burkevale School. Lord knows, we certainly need more space, and the excitement of creating a learning environment for every student to thrive individually and collectively is awe-inspiring. There is a portion of our new building that brings some sadness – 39 Burke Street has been Burkevale’s home for over a century! We shall grow and create new blossoms, but never forget our roots.

Mental Health Week is from May 6-12 it will be the 73rd annual Mental Health Week celebrated in Canada. Mental Health Week is a time to come together as communities to share ways to support mental health as individuals, families and communities.
